Originally born out of being the shopfitting arm of the Jackson’s retail stores across Hull and East Yorkshire, CTS was established in 1998 and has grown into one of the UK’s most successful shopfitting, construction and project management companies.
A business with family at the heart, built around the traditional values of complete customer service, clarity and satisfaction, CTS has a turnover in excess of £50m and employs more than 150 employees a testament to the leadership of founders Richard Middleton and Wayne Flanagan.
They led CTS for more than two decades, before handing over the day-to day running to Managing Director Neil Nicklin, Director James Middleton and Director Martyn Clark who continue to follow the CTS values of partnership working, complete collaboration and always working to exceed expectations.

CTS has grown through prudent management and flexibility, steadily growing our work not only in the Yorkshire and Humber region, but from the Highlands of Scotland right down to Cornwall and all the places in between.
Our carefully managed growth has seen us develop into a top tier main contractor throughout the food retail fit out and construction fit out sector, carrying out project management and bespoke work nationwide for clients including Sainsbury’s, Co-op, Waitrose and WH Smith, as well as working in many NHS Hospitals and railway stations, completing installations from cafes to coffee shops.
As a principal contractor, we can lead on every aspect of a shopfitting project, from feasibility studies and drawings right through the planning, design. Our sister company, CTS Decorating, is one of the largest painting and decorating companies in the region, enabling us to add the perfect finish on all projects.

We directly employ our own site managers and trades personnel, with a commitment to providing them with the latest training, qualifications and recognised trade accreditations.
We are recognised by leading industry bodies for the standard of our work, procurement, Health and Safety and competence as a principal contractor, as well as being Achilles ‘Building Confidence’ accredited. We have a Health & Safety culture, with our own in-house department supporting on all projects. In 2024, our team was awarded a Certificate of Achievement from Construction Safety Solutions, scoring 100% four times in succession in inspections at two Waitrose development sites in Scotland, and we were also recognised at the 2024 Sainsbury’s Property Strategic Partner Awards.
